Go unless you\'ve been called to stay! 07/25/2010
The Bible tells us to take the Gospel into all the world. "Go you therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19 God never tells us that we have to have a call to go to India, Pakistan, or to China. What this discussion amounts to though is the following: You should obey the words of scripture that has been quoted above. If God hasn't specifically called you to stay in your comfortable lifestyle, then you should definitely go. These instructions are now known throughout Christendom as the "Great Commission." I agree with you that these are indeed powerful words. These are the last marching orders that we have from our Commander-In-Chief, Jesus Christ. We should take these words to heart, seek the Lord while He may be found, and embrace the reality of them for our own individual lives. |
